Neon Lights 03:09
Neon signs in the city Right on time You look so pretty Takes me back to seventeen When we caught a cab We never felt so free We didnʼt know when weʼd go home We never had a better place to be In the back, electric eyes they meet Whoʼd ever thought weʼd be alone Itʼs a late night on the road for us Feeling so high canʼt get enough Street lights burn Will we ever learn We got no plans just you and me Cruising right down the 43 Those street lights burn Will the world still turn The sun goes down behind the waves Can you hear me now when I say It takes me back to Sneaking out at seventeen When we caught a cab We never felt so free We didnʼt know when weʼd go home We never had a better place to be In the back, electric eyes they meet We never thought weʼd be alone

about

The song envisions a young couple meeting in a city lit by neon lights, and attempt to capture that electric feeling of falling in love in the space of one evening. At the time, we were feeling a deep nostalgia for the days when we could go wherever we wanted, whenever we wanted.
